FOMO TRAILS ALPINE TRAINING CAMP

13–15 November | Falls Creek, Victoria

Whether you're lining up for the Aussie Alpine Backyarder or preparing for any alpine trail running adventure this summer, the FOMO Trails Alpine Training Camp is designed to give you the confidence, knowledge, and experience to perform in Australia's high country.

Over three days, you'll train on alpine terrain, learn how to manage the unique demands of altitude and mountain environments, and connect with a community of like-minded runners who share a passion for challenging themselves in the outdoors.

This is not simply a weekend of running. It's an opportunity to gain valuable insights from experienced alpine trail runners, practice race-day strategies, and experience the supportive community that defines FOMO Trails events.

WHATS INCLUDED?

Friday 13 November
Shake-Out Run

Kick off the weekend with an easy afternoon run designed to loosen the legs, settle into the altitude, and connect with fellow participants before the main training day.

Saturday 14 November
Aussie Alpine Backyarder Simulation

Experience the Aussie Alpine Backyarder course in a controlled training environment with an eight-hour simulation run.

This session allows runners to:

  • Familiarise themselves with the course

  • Test pacing strategies

  • Practice nutrition and hydration plans

  • Experience the demands of repeated alpine loops

  • Learn how altitude can affect performance

Importantly, participants are not required to complete all eight loops. The day is designed to meet runners where they are in their training journey, allowing you to tailor the experience to your individual goals and fitness level.

Community Dinner

After a big day on the trails, join us for a relaxed family-style dinner. Share stories from the day, learn from fellow runners, and enjoy the community atmosphere that FOMO Trails is known for.

Dinner is included in your registration.

Sunday 15 November
Falls Creek Recovery Run

Recover, explore, and enjoy the spectacular alpine environment with a guided tour of Falls Creek.

Participants can choose from different length recovery runs.

This flexible approach allows everyone to finish the weekend with a run that matches their recovery needs and training goals.
